THIS CAMP IS ONLY FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE ABLE TO SAIL INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT 'FUNDAMENTALS' INSTRUCTION.

This is a fun camp will take more experienced sailors to the waters of West Lake Okoboji as they sail to new destinations on various boats, such as Laser Radial and the BIC O’Pen.
Take one session or several sessions as each class will have a slightly different theme including destination sailing, reading weather forecasts, online maps & charts, boat handling, and racing tips.

Knowledge of the points of sail and basic boat handling skills are required. Students may be assigned boat type based on their size, skill, interest, and wind conditions.

​Prerequisites 
  • Prior approval is required for children that have taken Optimist Fundamentals Camp or our Intermediate Camp
  • Previous Laser/BIC Camp participants. ​

Students must bring and wear their own US Coast Guard approved life jackets
